It will no doubt be sometime before dust from the Referendum and its resulting ‘out’ vote settles.

One might argue that despite the months of campaigning, the implications for ‘out’ were not really understood by UK citizens. Many may also be unaware that the Referendum decision is not necessarily final, Government does have the power to override the People’s decision and stay, but with the applecart already upset it would take a strong Prime Minister to back track.

National Living Wage – Don’t get caught short!

1st April 2016 saw the immediate introduction of the National Living Wage.

 

All workers aged 25 or over who are not in the first year of an apprenticeship, are legally entitled to at least £7.20 per hour. The Government is committed to increasing the amount every year.

 

It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that they are paying their staff correctly.  It would be advisable for payroll departments to review current wages and confirm that all wages equate to the correct hourly rate for their age:

Everyone loves a bank holiday! Don’t they?

We all know that Bank Holidays are most welcome. That extended weekend is a joyful time for most. 

The various days throughout the year, make up our +8 annual leave entitlement. However, those +8 days only calculate correctly for a leave year of January to December with Easter bank holiday days falling in April.
